Happy Easter!

Posted April 12th, 2009 by Cameron

Wow, time sure flies. It has been a few months since our last post. We haven’t been very good about keeping our site updated, but once again we will try better.

Yesterday we all went to our friends house and had a little Easter celebration. Their daughter, Brecklyn and Haylee are best friends. We hid a bunch of Easter eggs in their yard and had the girls run around and find them. They did a great job and really helped each other out. They are so cute together. After they found all of their eggs, they went inside and and started eating the candy in their eggs. They were also given Mr. Potato Head bunnies and bubble toys. They played with the eggs and bunnies for awhile, until the candy kicked in. Then they were bouncing off the wall for the rest of the day. Watch the Youtube video in our video section for proof of their sugar overdose.

While the girls were screaming and going crazy the adults prepared a very yummy lunch. We fired up the grill and had hot dogs & hamburgers. I’m not sure why, but the hamburger was probably the best one I’ve had in a year or more. It tasted so good. We sauteed onions and mushrooms and put avocado and Cabot cheese on them as well. Jess had a chicken salad sandwich because she isn’t really eating beef these days thanks to the weird appetite her pregnancy has caused. After lunch we cleaned up and headed home so the girls could take their naps.

When Haylee woke up a couple hours later we packed up and brought her back to Brecklyn’s house. Jess and I went to the Jazz game while Kris stayed home and babysat the girls. (big props to Kris) The game was bad as the Jazz played horribly, but I was able to get a Jazz tshirt they were giving away and I got a few of the players to sign it before the game, so that part was cool. I also got a picture with one of the Jazz dancers, Ashley. A few weeks ago her mom started working for me at my mortgage company. It will be fun to show Jan (Ashley – the Jazz dancers mom) the picture. Her mom is so proud of her daughter being a Jazz dancer, so I’m sure she will think the picture is really cool!

We wish all of you a very happy Easter. Have fun and be safe. Send us pictures of your holiday celebration!

Merry Christmas

Jess and I are in Vermont for a couple of weeks to enjoy the holidays with all of our VT family and friends. So far we have done a little bit of shopping, some eating, and snowmobiling. The other day Dave (father-in-law), James (bro-in-law) and I went for a 2-3 hour snowmobile ride into Groton and Cabot, then back home. It was a nice ride, but they hadn’t groomed the trails, so the snow was a bit thick. It was very light however. Since we have been in Vermont – for about 6 days, we have gotten at least 25 inches of snow. It’s made it a bit hard to get out and do things.

Next week there is plans to go hang out with friends, skiing and snowmobiling. I have yet to see any friends, so I hope to do a lot of that this weekend and next week.

Even More Exciting News!

BIG announcement! Haylee just took her first dump on the toilet. Sorry, that wasn’t polite. She took her first poopie on the toilet. She even told daddy she needed to, so we went into the toilet, and KaBooM! This is what she looked like.

Potty Training is EASY!

Posted December 4th, 2008 by Cameron

I know I sound foolish for saying that, but c’mon. You tell your child to go pee-pee in the potty and that is what they do right? That is what Haylee just told me. So she woke up from her nap and I took her diaper off because it was a bit wet. 45 minutes and 3 glasses of fruit punch later, she must have had to go pee. I’m surprised she lasted that long.

She ran her naked bum over to me (sitting on the couch) and said, “daddy needa pee.” I asked her if she needed to go pee and she said, “yah.” I took her into the bathroom and put her on the toilet. She pee’d F-O-R-E-V-E-R. I didn’t think it was going to stop. I started day dreaming that I was at Niagara Falls. Finally she stopped. This time was obviously not a game. When it is a game she hardly pee’s at all.

It’s nice to know that she will tell me when she needs to pee and allow me the time to get her onto the toilet, rather than on the floor. I hope she keeps that awesomeness up!

Drum Beat

Posted December 4th, 2008 by Cameron

That’s right. Jess and I heard – for the first time – our new little baby’s heart beat. Jess had a doctors appointment on Wednesday (12-3-08). It was a wonderful thing to hear. The doctor said it was a perfect rate for the stage it is in, and man was that good to hear. You know, pregnancy is never a “real” thing until you have proof. We got our proof today, and man we are excited.

Daddy Saw It!

Hahahaha….

She pee’d in front of me just now too. Daddy and Haylee were playing in the bedroom and Haylee said “pee in potty.” I took her into the bathroom, and she climbed up onto the potty all by herself, and she pee’d. I watched to make sure, then I wiped…daddy’s role. :-D

Seems that maybe (hopefully) it was more than just a fluke the first time. We’ll see how tomorrow goes and keep you all posted.

GUESS WHAT!?!?

Haylee told me that she wanted to go pee on the potty, nothing new – I think she sees her friends learning to potty train, which intrigues her.  We don’t take her to the potty all the time because she is too young to really get it, it’s more of a game to her – but tonight I was headed that way and she needed a diaper change, so I took her to the potty and ……. SHE PEED!!!!!!!!!!!  This hardly means she is ready to be potty trained (I wish) – but it was super exciting, of course!!  She got a big treat – smarties.  Daddy missed it, but Haylee yelled to him & knocked on the wall for him to come in and share in her excitement.  YAY.

My First Blog – Randomness

Posted November 29th, 2008 by Jessica

Cameron and I took Haylee to “Cookie Cutter” today to get her first haircut!  Yes, she is almost 2 and is just barely getting her very first haircut. That might not normally be a big deal, but she has a TON of hair, and basically always has. We did nothing drastic, just a trim and some layers.  Right now it’s kind of hard to tell if it’ll be all that noticeable because the hairdresser put mouse & hairspray in to make it real curly!  Haylee did so good – she sat in a little pink corvette (see pictures) and watched Elmo on her own personal TV.  “Cookie Cutter” is designed for children – very cute place.  Aunt Judy and Amie showed up to watch as well as they were in the area.

After the first haircut, we took Haylee to “Red Robin” for lunch – she got a red balloon – so she was excited about that – she loves balloons!

After lunch – Cameron took Haylee home for a nap and I met up with Aunt Judy, Amie and Jordan for a matinee – we saw “Four Christmases,” it was a very cute movie – but very short!

19 more days and Cameron, Haylee and I will be in an airplane on our way to Vermont!  We will be gone from December 18th til January 6th!  We are all very excited!  Not too many plans – just hanging out with family and absorbing every minute with them.  I’ll definitely have to hit up ASIA, my favorite Chinese Restaurant!  On Christmas we’ll be waking up at my parents house, we will spend the first half of the day there with my family.  I think my mom is making a turkey (YUM) – then for the second half of the day we’re going to the Norths for more food, presents and probably some games.   Can it be the 18th already :)

I hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving.  We went over to Aunt Judy’s – she made a delicious dinner and then we all played games – 31 & Apples to Apples!  It was hilarious .. Haylee made a funny we will have to tell you all about later – lets just say she has us all laughing so hard we were practically crying.

Well, I guess I’ll conclude this randomness .. for everyone back in Vermont – see you soon!  Love and Miss you all very much.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Thanskgiving today. Just for fun, here is some good reading…

What did the mama turkey say to her naughty son?
If your papa could see you now, he’d turn over in his gravy!

Asked to write a composition entitled, “What I’m thankful for on Thanksgiving,” little Timothy wrote, “I am thankful that I’m not a turkey.”

What do Hippies put on their Thanksgiving potatoes?
Groovy

A lady was picking through the frozen turkeys at the grocery store, but couldn’t find one big enough for her family. She asked the stock boy, ‘Do these turkeys get any bigger?’

The stock boy answered, ‘No ma’ am, they’re dead.’

Bob and Martha have been married for 15 years. Every morning for 15 years, Bob wakes up, farts loudly, rolls over onto his back and gets up for work.

Every morning for 15 years, Martha says, “One of these days, you’re gonna fart your guts out!”

One Thanksgiving morning, Martha’s preparing the turkey and gets an idea. Before her husband gets up, she creeps upstairs and places the turkey innards in his pajama bottoms, giggling to herself.

Well, later that morning, Bob wakes up and goes through his morning ritual. He screams as he goes running into the bathroom. Martha laughs, but is concerned after noticing that Bob has been in the bathroom for 3 hours.

She runs upstairs, and is about to knock on the door, when Bob opens up, pale as a ghost. He says, “You were right. You were right. I did fart my guts out, but by the grace of God and these two fingers I got them back up there again.”

Things to Do to Liven Up Thanksgiving Dinner

1. Load your plate up high, then take it to the kitchen, toss it all in the blender, and take your “shake” back to the table. Announce that it’s the new Thanksgiving Weight Loss Shake.

2. When everyone goes around to say what they are Thankful for, say, “I’m thankful I didn’t get caught” and refuse to say anything more.

3. Bring along old recorded football games, pop them in the VCR when Dad’s not looking. Make sure it is set to the last two minutes of the game. When he comes into the room, turn off the VCR and turn on the regular TV.

4. Bring a date that only talks about the tragic and abusive conditions known to exist at turkey farms.

5. During mid-meal turn to mom and say, “See mom, I told you they wouldn’t notice that the Turkey was past expiration date. You were worried for nothing.”

Bun In the Oven

UltrasoundThat is right, Jess is pregnant! We had been trying for about a month and kazaam! Jess is definitely fertile Mertile. We believe she is somewhere between 9 and 10 weeks along. We actually go to the doctors next week for our first visit. I don’t recall what they do on the first visit, but I’ll fill you in.

It is estimated that she is due sometime in June 2009. We’ll probably know more after the appointment.
